Hurricane Isaias: Early Prescription Refills Permitted Under State of Emergency

On October 6, 2026, Executive Order 26-202 was issued by Governor Ron DeSantis, authorizing pharmacists to dispense up to a 30-day emergency prescription refill of maintenance medication to those living in areas covered under the Executive Order. Additionally, on October 7, 2026, Emergency Order 26-001 was issued by State Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo, MD, PhD. Uniform MPJE™ (UMPJE™) to be Implemented June 1, 2026

Rule 64B16-26.200, Florida Administrative Code, was amended by the Board of Pharmacy and becomes effective, June 1, 2026. The rule will adopt the Uniform Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (UMPJE™). The UMPJE™ is designed to assess the knowledge of state laws that are universal to all jurisdictions.

Beginning this date, Florida’s state-specific Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE), also known as the Florida Laws and Rules Examination, will no longer be administered.
